About Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis):
- Appearance: It has a robust body with a dark greenish or brown back covered with lighter markings. Its sides feature distinctive red, yellow, and bluish spots, while its belly ranges from white to reddish.
- Diet: It feeds primarily on insects, crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish.
- Spawning: It spawns during the Southern Hemisphere autumn (March to May). During this period, its coloration becomes much more intense, with striking reddish tones.
- Fishing Methods: Fly fishing or spinning.
